Have you reviewed your adventure goals for 2017? This year is giving us a chance to reinvent ourselves and to keep on chasing our dreams. In this 2017 journey, have you included some extremes in your list like water rafting through a raging river? Or exploring and discovering the underwater? Or have you imagined flying and gliding free as a bird? Well, it’s time to tick off these from your list and get ready for these three escapades.
Let me take you to one beautiful Province in Southern Philippines to have these dreams achieved. Let’s explore Sarangani Province and go to the Western part where the Municipality of Maasim, Kiamba and Maitum lies.
- Sarangani Paragliding Tandem
Whoever said that adventure sports are only for the rich and the famous? In Maasim, Sarangani, anyone with a heart filled with adrenaline is welcome to take this priceless moment to beat the gravity and glide free as a bird.
The fear is only at the beginning. But once you got the perfect wind, run off from the cliff and you descended from the canopy secured with a harness, then you will experience a different definition of freedom.
Sarangani Paraglide offers a tandem so you shouldn’t have to worry anything as a skilled paraglide pilot will take you to this journey. So brace yourself and be ready to fly.
- Marine Sanctuary in Tuka Beach Park
Unknown to many is a very beautiful 4-coved Marine Park in Kiamba, Sarangani. It is a well-protected marine sanctuary, a reason why you should have to visit.
We are lucky enough that the Municipality of Kiamba opened one cove for tourists to share the hidden beauty of this place. The blue-green water, the pristine white sand with a backdrop of surrounding jungle will amaze you as you come by through a boat ride.
But the beauty of nature never runs out. Here, in this place, it is found underwater. Snorkeling will let you enjoy the plethora of diverse marine life and even swim with the fishes.
- White Water Tubing Adventure
Another recreational outdoor activity awaits you in New La Union, Maitum wherein you will navigate the Pangi River through an inflatable tube. The smooth to rough waters with small to medium waves are the only warm-ups for this experience. But you have nothing to fear as you will have a guide who understands and knows the river very well. They will maneuver the tube for your safety to avoid big rocks but be ready for some considerable drop.
Have a good grip and embrace the experience beyond your expectations on your white water tubing adventure.
Don’t rush ticking off your goals’ list and leave these places soon. Wander and explore slowly as you will discover more hidden natural reserves and you will realize that exploring Western Sarangani worth it all.
How to reach the Western part of Sarangani?
The best starting point is from General Santos City. If you are coming from nearby cities or from the airport, there are buses and air-conditioned van that travels to Maasim, Kiamba and Maitum.
