I can only imagine now the snowy mountains of Bakuriani. The place has been developed with international standards for winter sports. The slopes of Bakuriani are excellent for skiing, ski-jumping, snowboarding and many others.
It is indeed one of Georgia’s winter paradise.

How do I know about it if I visited Bakuriani during the rainy season? I was there last October 2017, autumn and raining. I know it because I went for a walk heading to the foot of the snow mountain where the ski lifts operate.
But it only rained. I hoped for snowfall in October. It didn’t happen. The ski lift wasn’t operating by that time.
What I did was to ask permission to take a short walk around the area. The guy wearing a police shirt allowed me but reminded me not to go far. I agreed as I’m afraid as well that rain will pour at any moment.
But seeing those trails, hills and the ropeway… It was difficult to stop and return. I kept on extending another 15 minutes to go further.
I saw another hill and I decided to go up and rest there. Then I will go back. One car passed by me.
I was halfway to the top of the hill, the car came back. It was the police calling me.
He told me to go back at that time. It wasn’t safe to go to the top of the hill as there are dogs there. Dogs! Knowing that dogs can really make me pray harder, I went down.
I am not really that hard-headed.
They’d just came back to warn me. Oh, thank you! Because after that, they turned back the car and went to the forest.
I became paranoid. How did they know I was on my way to the hill? Are there cameras around? I looked around. I saw some stuff and I assumed they’re indeed cameras 🙂 Only to find out later that they are being used for artificial snow.
So, thank you Bakuriani angels for looking after me.
The sun was still up. The rain seemed to forget to pour down. It was an awesome weather.
Since I cannot go deep into the forest, I chose the opposite direction where hotels were built.
I passed by The Valley where my aparthotel, MountInn is located.
Few cars stopped. But I wasn’t in the mood to hitchhike. I preferred to walk.
Below are the photos of Bakuriani where hotels are mostly built. Can you imagine how does it look during winter?
Walking around Bakuriani is indeed a wonderful experience inspite of the unpredictable weather. What’s even more rewarding is to go home and enjoy a relaxing stay in MountInn Bakuriani.
Now that it is winter, are you chasing snow? Visit Bakuriani. It is around 200 kilometers from Tbilisi and around 3-hour drive.
Chase your dreams now.
