Filipino Culture

The path from dreams to success does exist. May you have the vision to find it, the courage to get on to it, and the perseverance to follow it.- Kalpana Chawla

At the present time, we see on social media sites people moving around, exploring places after one. I once asked myself if how can they even do that possible? Wherein, my Filipino culture says I should not go out alone, I should be settled by now…and this one is the best— I studied well and work abroad (OFW) and comes with it the ‘breadwinner’ thing. I should provide for the family.

So how we will deal with it if the culture that we have grown up with have set expectations towards us that is totally different from what we want to do with our lives? What if the cultural practice and traditions are not the same as the path we want to take?

Are we going to set aside those small and big dreams thinking that we have a lifetime to achieve them?

Are we going to adhere to the norms of the society and have our “what if’s” in the end?

Are we going to work for the rest of our lives and provide for the family and even extended families?

How are we going to achieve our dreams without totally abandoning a culture embedded with good values?

Armenia Trekking

By the way, I am Louiela, OFW based in Abu Dhabi.

I just came back from a very rewarding eight-month mid-career break. I spent almost five months (slow travels) in Caucasus Region (Armenia and Georgia) and another three months in Abu Dhabi while enjoying each day while searching for better opportunities back to the corporate world.

I worked before in one of the leading healthcare company, where every nurse dreamt to work with. Leaving the job, according to others was a risky decision. But for me, it was too easy to let go. I wasn’t happy anymore.

If you’re an OFW, you might be able to relate to my story: Why I Took A Mid-Career Break?

The power of dreams…

Ilang taon na ang nakakalipas, tinanong ako, “Do you want to gain financial wealth and spiritual abundance at the same time?”

Yes!

May kasama pang spiritual abundance.

May pagkakaiba ba? 🙂

Nakakatuwa lang kasing makakilala ng mga taong “the ones who chose how to live their life” ika nga… May mga nasa 20’s, meron ding mas mataas sa 40 years old…

Kaya ayon na naman ako… the power of action and the power of now… Kaylangan kong malaman anong sistema ang ginagawa nila… Marami sila eh… Iisipin ko pa bang scam?  Walang pagdadalawang-isip, kung nagagawa nila, ako pa ba? Malamang, ikaw rin… Kaya mo rin…

Automated Business System (Ang lupit nila no… )

Dito, may mas madali…

At once na-achieve mo na? Wag mong kalimutang i-share ang mga ito…to bless the world and others…

Nakakatuwa lang, dahil mula nuon hanggang ngayon, I continue to meet those people who are blessing the world with their God-given gifts and talents…. Regardless of cultural backgrounds and differences…

Maraming paraan…
